The view from Pinehaven is spectacular
Coming to Pinehaven requires a "turn to the right"
God founded Pinehaven, through Bob and Nancy, in 1976
Andy now serves as Director of Pinehaven
3 more building have been, or are being, built since this photo was taken
Our first house on the ranch, capable of housing 12 young people
Each house is designed to house 6 boys and 6 girls
Design changes and improvements are made each time we build
Each house also has room for houseparents' children (if any) and guest rooms for our visitors
Finding new colors for the siding can be a bit challenging
What do you do when you have some brown siding and some white siding left over?
Our houses are split-level, built into the hills of Pinehaven
Not THAT White House - This one has more important business to see about; sharing God's love
Or is it "The Grey House"?
We needed more room for teachers and support staff
Jon serves as a teacher and Principal of Pinehaven Christian School
Our school has 3 levels on the front, a gymnasium in the middle, and lots of room in which to learn
We have chapel 3 times a week at Pinehaven Christian School
Scriptural teaching is essential
Our kids learn a variety of computer skills in our computer lab in the Library
We exercise their bodies as well as their minds
The pool is a great place for PE class as well as for family time
Both boys and girls have shop class in our roomy wood shop
From time to time, we teach other skills like welding
We're really proud of our graduates - Receiving a diploma from Pinehaven Christian School opens many doors
This is where the horses are saddled, unsaddled, and groomed
Each Spring, we round up our cows and calves for branding and vaccination
Round Up is an all-day event where everyone gets involved
We actually encourage the "herd mentality" with our cows
This activity is a lot more popular with our kids than with our calves
No cows (or kids) were harmed in the taking of this picture
This isn't the calves favorite part of the day
Each Lord's Day everyone at Pinehaven joins in praise, worship, and Bible study with others of the community
Several times a year, our young people bring special music
Buried with Christ, raised to walk in newness of life
Cutting, turning, baling, bucking, and stacking - It's a lot of hard work, but our cows really appreciate it
We like a full haybarn almost as much as the cows do
We grown several different kinds of vegetables in our garden - Raspberries, too!
We use the dozer to excavate springs, build roads, and dig out foundations for our buildings
Concrete is poured over and around radiant heat pipes that help keep the house cozy in the winter
Our kids get to help in our building projects, learning all sorts of skills from finishing concrete to wiring and plumbing
Once the concrete cures, the framing begins
This is NOT a "do-it-yourself" job - We are grateful for the many work groups that come and help with our building projects
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it
Nearly all our buildings are heated with wood
This machine makes short work of the cutting the logs into lengths
Horse rides are popular with our visitors as well as our kids
We talk to God a lot - Good thing it's a local call
Lake Mary Ronan, near Flathead Lake, is the setting for church camp
The lake is great for swimming, boating, and fishing, but it's even better for baptisms
Each year, weather and fire danger permitting, our kids go on a hike in the mountains of Western Montana
The scenery is incredible - the experience unforgettable
For some of our kids, this is a completely new experience - No RV's, no cabins - just you and the woods
The icy-cold water of this mountain lake is ideal for fishing
Catching a little supper is always a treat
Three generations of Hunter Safety Instructors
We teach the kids safe gun-handling practices - all carefully supervised - some kids even get to hunt in the Fall
Our cows are just trying to get a "square meal"
Andy says it's pretty difficult to get a good picture of the back end of a cow
Chores must be done no matter what the weather is like
Looks like she's learning something from that cow - or vice versa
There's play time in every season, although tubing down the hill isn't much fun in Summer
Not "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" - This one starts out, "In those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus..."
This baby was adopted by a Christian couple through our Life House program
Pinehaven as seen from the Mission Valley at late evening - We're letting our light shine
The Rainbow - God's promise of protection - The Cross - God's promise of eternal Life
